    From David Hall at PCGS.

"This has actually happened a few times over the years. Assuming the holder is not tampered with/counterfeit (doesn't look like it), this is a guarantee issue as it was clearly our grading (attribution) mistake.

This is where I get my motto!

"A slab cannot reflect a coins true beauty, unless that coins in an NGC holder" .....j/k :D

I do feel that PCGS is not holding up to their market excellence anymore. I have submitted over 100 coins to them this year and I have returned at least 10 of them due to problems such as; holder not sealed, wrong attributions, coins sideways in holder, etc. Now on the other hand, I have submitted nearly 200 to NGC without a problem one. I think NGC deserves to be on the top of the TPG totem pole!

the guy is going to be really dissappointed if it is a fake, and i too have tried to "police" ebay and another site that i use that is similar to that, and always get nasty responses back.. so i also have stopped, really makes me mad when people don't want to listen..

No grading service will ever be perfect. As far as things like coins rotating in the holder that does not have much to do with grading and such. I have actually seen that alot more with NGC holders then PCGS ones. I don't like those edge view holders at all for that reason.

My best advice is to buy the coin and not the slab. Every company gets it wrong sometimes and that is why a good guarantee is paramount.

Also good info about the quote from David Hall. It is nice to see them willing to take responsibility and address the problem. Thumbs up David!

I have seen similar things from 2 other grading services in the past and contacted them. They didn't even bother to reply to me.
