Well i'm trading in my knifes for retirerment, after 33yrs cutting meat..i'll be the big "55" this year....
Congrats ... I still have "5" long years to go (until I'm 55) ... *sigh* (sadly, "8" for my full 30-year pension) Man, that seems like such a long stint (I am very happy that you've reached your goal/milestone ... congrats, ya old ****!!) => oh, very super-cool coin!!! (Happy B-Day)
Nice => the ol' "Birthday-Month" is an awesome tactic (yup, go with that!!) uh-huh, that's Einstein type o' stuff => pure genius (well played, Eng)
Nice Domitian quadrans. Facing left is the rarer variety. I lost one in the Triskeles auction this morning. I already own a few, but still........
Medoraman => ummm, was it you that stated that there were only two Rulers with rhinos? => Domitian and Trajan? ... and both of these have a left and right example (therefore, there are only "4" Roman Rhino examples?)
Medoraman, the company that sold this coin said there was another one that sold today, i think he said $155 plus comish, i got mine for a hundred and 5 for shipping, i bought this from vcoins, Musa Numismatics, Glen is a great guy and will work a deal..plug,plug..
Yes, this Domitian quadrans and a Trajan dichalkon are the only ancient rhinos I have ever found. Kind of small collection. Both come in facing left or right.
Yes. That is the one I got outbid on. It had a pedigree, and pretty green patina, but otherwise not better than yours. Already owning multiples of this coin makes me price sensitive.
