presidential dollar. something that looks like U next to 1. stars missing tip

You see so many of these misfires on presidential coins (dollar) it's hard to keep track of them all. While these anomalies add interest they very rarely add value. Still, they are fun to find and yours is interesting indeed.

 

does that mean there is a letter there? would be first one
