1857 Flying Eagle Cent (PCGS AU58). Just got this TrueView photo back this week! Rare to see color on a Flying Eagle Cent. I think the higher nickel content (88% copper and 12% nickel) inhibited toning. Starting in 1865, the composition of small cents was changed to 95% copper and 5% tin/zinc, which opened the toning floodgates. This coin exhibits secondary album toning (I believe), with the characteristic target pattern (obverse only). Flying Eagle Cents have one of the shortest runs for any generally circulating U.S. coin series, minted for only 3 years (1856, 1857, and 1858).
1976-D Bicentennial Quarter DDO-001 I've been going though rolls of my Grand-Father Bicentennial Quarters, ( 1976-D ) and so far found 3, DDO-001 1 of 2
1976-D Bicentennial Quarter DDO-001 And, here's the last on, which has a " Polished Die " on the Obverse 1 of 2
Got this in the mail today! 1868-S Seated Half with mispunched date in dentils! WB-104. Not sure how rare it is, but I love that crusty, problem-free circulated look!
Bought my first Seated Liberty dime today (1876). I was looking for a Barber Dime which I also don't have yet (obviously a newbie) but it caught my eye and was marked down by six dollars. Don't have pics yet but it is in Very Good condition. Also pulled a Mexican 30% silver 50ct coin from the ten-cent box.
I've had better luck finding half cents vs. large cents. I got a good deal on this one last week. NGC VF20.
Hub Doubling 2012-D Jefferson Nickel This one has some nice Hub Doubling on Motto ( Monticello & Liberty ) and Date
Naw, I didn't. I was looking forward to something extra but I only got a flyer. Maybe you need to be a new customer and spend over a certain amount??? Who knows. I still love the coin, and I think DLRC is a first-rate outfit.
Here's 3 more of my collection...I might have to get a better scanner and a better way of sizing it. 1842 Large Cent, 1864 Two Cent, & 1820 Large Cent I'll try another 3 later.
