its realy easy to do just download paint.net

open your picture. go to the adjustments tab click auto balance then go back to adjustments tab and mess with the brightness/contrast its a slider so you can see the edit live takes like 5 seconds. makes the picture look like the coin in your hand besides toneing i havent figured out how to capture tone yet.

    its free

At some point, I'll need to get over to Home Depot and pick up more acetone, since these have some heavy PVC on them, but not an awful purchase, IMO. Got them off eBay under spot as a part of a larger foreign silver lot. I prorated the price based upon the silver content of the total lot.

I always thought that the Japan Trade Dollars actually said "Trade Dollar" in the ring.

Some Japanese trade dollars do. I don't know enough about them to know why some do and some don't.

nice specimens. The Mexican varieties seem particularly hard to come by. Does anybody know if Japanese and Mexican dollars are faked as much as US dollars? I feel like I'd be taking a risk buying on eBay.

It took me over three years to find this coin, but the wait did pay off. I think it is at lest MS63.

Ive had those adventures too. Im currently on another with a single roman empress set I am building. 2 out of 3 are available but I dont wanna pay their asking. But with ancients I dont worry about MS this or slabs. :/

Still thats a lovely coin I would even own. I love early moderns.

No. Only the Trade Dollars say Trade Dollar on them. The ones that say "One Yen" aren't Trade Dollars, they're yen coins meant for circulation in Japan. The ones that have "gin" counterstamps were sent to China, so I guess they could also be technically called trade dollars, but not Trade Dollars.
