i know book values arent always that accurate compared to the actual rice these a coin is currently selling for does anyone know the book value of a MS69 2012 burnished SAE. its graded by NGC and has the black "retro" holder for some reason they dont have the 2012 W on the NGC price guide, they have all the other coins from that year but not the burnished that has the W mint mark, they only have the non mint mark prices i can post a picture if needed but its no different then all the other MS69 of this type thanks so much for your time
The easiest way to get a value on your coin is to look for a similar auction on ebay and watch it until it closes. With the price of silver right now I'd guess you could get around $60 for it +/- on a good day.
i know thats the best way to find out what its actually selling for, but i would like to know what the "book value" is, i only have the 2009 red book not the current one i found two that sold for 94.95 on ebay, not just listed at 94.95 but actually sold for 94.95 and one that sold for 83.95 so on ebay it is $55-95 most of the buy it nows are around 69.95 but like i said i would just like the listed book value
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw...ct=&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_sop=12&_dmd=1&_ipg=50 It's got a line through the selling price so I assume the sale didn't go through. 2012 burnished eagles don't 'list' in the 2013 Red Book.
I have been watching these on ebay because I bought 20 the day the individual coins sold out. $60 right now is about right, but people definitely pay more for that black retro slab -- often $15 - $25 more. I think these people are fools, but my opinion doesn't matter.
Yeah, they call me a fool for buying the fancy mint packaging too, but that's just the way homey is . At any rate, it's all about collecting.......
heres the $94 dollar one http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012-W-SILVER-EAGLE-COIN-NGC-MS69-BURNISHED-BLACK-RETRO-LOW-175-205-/230938350590?pt=Bullion_US&hash=item35c4ff93fe&nma=true&si=eEeDVLhrPxqwW1UI1XFPuw2OLC0%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 i wonder why they didnt put the 2012 W in the book. i guess thats why NGC didnt have the price on their website if the price has a line through it, that means the "best offer" was accepted by the seller i won an auction today for $54.99 for a black slab ms69 2012 W i wouldnt pay $15 extra for the black slab, all my other NGc are in the white slab. i did however want one of the black ones and since this one isnt part of a set like a lot of my other SAE (25th ann, 2012 SF set, ect) i figured it would be a good one to get in black the only time i would ever pay extra for black would be if it was the last coin in a set i needed and wanted it to match all the other blacks in the set, other wise i dont see the reason for paying extra. i would rather put that money towards a higher grade coin. I collect coins not slabs, so color, label design dont mean much, for the same price i will try to get the slab i want but im not going to pay extra for it
Red Book is lame and out of touch at times Roger. I feel the same pain when I try to look up mintage's on modern commem's........shootin' blanks. I think you did rather well in your collecting endeavor today (yesterday)..........
The line through the selling price means the sale went through but at a lower price than it had originally been listed for. With recent eBay updates came a restriction that prevents anyone from seeing what dollar amount was accepted by the seller. It simply shows that the coin sold at an "offered" price instead of the "asking" price.
That is a good price. The mintage is currently at 229,828 and it should sell out soon. The mintage will be similar to last years San Francisco set but at a lower price.
The 2012-W coin is available in the Annual Dollar Set. That was pulled for repricing when silver dropped. The new price is going to be $49.95 ($10 cheaper than it was) and it might go back on sale as soon as today. With the lower price, it might sell out soon, but who knows how many sets they have. BTW, the 2012-P 5oz Chaco price is dropping by $50.
The Annual Uncirculated Dollar Set sold out at the Mint today and with it the 2012-W Burnished Sliver Eagle.
