=> yah, that is pretty deperessing, eh? ... oh but hey, I smell a pretty rockin' party comin' on!!

Hey Bing ... my Dad is turning the big "9-0" in November, so you're not the oldest dude that I get to insult every now and then (does that make you feel a bit better?)

A gem in the Museum of Castelvecchio (Verona) depicts the god Sandas of Tarsos with his terrible animal: the lion-goat. On the reverse side there is the inscription YOYO. The epigraphical and archaeological evidence from Anatolia, from Hittite to Hellenistic times, proves that Sandas was a underworld god protecting tombs and sending pestilences when angry. He was appeased by offerings to his terrible ministers, who were usually seven. Similarly Nergal or Erra (similar to Sandas) in Mesopotamia, and Sekhmet in Egypt had seven animal-headed terrible ministers, who were able to bring pestilences and death. A Hittite inscription mentions Yaya as Sandas' female partner. Her name is very similar to the Yoyo on the Verona gem. Sandas was identified with Heracles because of his relations with the underworld realms and his warlike features. The lion-goat of Tarsus was the model of Greek Chimaera. In fact the myth of Bellerophon took its place in Lycia and Cilicia. In Hellenistic age the original form of this monster was better known and therefore we find its typical features in Hellenistic and Roman sculptures and reliefs.

Its an excellent point Bill brings up. If we are just writing from our general knowledge, paraphrasing other things we have read, its hard to source specific places where we read it. However, if we are copy/pasting someone else's work, at a bare minimum they are owed the service of giving them credit, as well as helping the reader assess the validity of the writing.

I agree with both Ardatirion and medman; however, when I first read Ardatirion's comments this morning, I thought the same as Anoob. Perhaps a little heavy-handed. But then Ardatirion apologized for sounding harsh, so hopefully all is well.

I'll be the first to admit that my writing style is terse and can easily translate into a mean or harsh sounding post. I try to make up for it by always being willing to apologize, when wrong.

NO! You are just an evil, evil man Bill, learn to accept that. :)

See the power of a smiley? Communication on the internet is always problemary. I make up for it by assuming everyone is meaning everything in the best light until proven wrong. Well, at least here, maybe not on the bullion forum.

Yeah, a smiley goes a long way.

My wife says I'm that way in person, so, now I put a smiley face on when I talk with people.

Side-note => the NHL Playoffs started last night, so I had a Playoff Pool at my house (where we drink a bunch of beer, eat a bunch of pizza and then pick a bunch of hockey players ... we each toss-in $100 and then spend the next month glued to the TV) ....... ummm, for you Yanks, I'm also hooked-up in an NBA Pool (now do ya get it?)
