WC: Perhaps. As I indicated in the original post, there is an academic discussion over which. I don't have the knowledge to say one way or the other. I tend to agree with you, but what do I know?
Both of my books have zero reference to Moneta, bar a single reference that it was a title of Juno's until the early imperatorial period (however, this section is, IMHO, suspect for inaccuracies) I'm still looking for the book that lists all of the gods/ goddesses, their titles, their symbols and their realms.... 4 years off and on looking... still nothing...
They are like an Otho denarius, always have been in demand so any example will be sold separately. I have seen the gamut of conditions for sale. Another example would be similar to Judea Capta issues.
Here is one that apparently sold for $3,600. http://goldbergcoins.auctionserver.net/view-auctions/catalog/id/11/lot/26205/
Yep, they are popular. Not rare, but popular. WHat coin could you dream of that would appeal MORE to an ancient collector than the goddess of money? I admit I have some, but not the RR version. I have bought Moneta early 4th century issues simply because it was Moneta. We have to support our own, right? Rule of thumb, Moneta will increase interest in a coin. Always.
