I signed up for it two days ago but havent heard anything back yet.

 

And you didn't tell anyone? Seriously, though, I don't think this offer should be posted on the forum. Stack's limited it to 1000 requests.

 

It was posted on the pcgs boards a week ago. Could be the limit is up.

 

Isn't it open to folks who aren't ANA members, anyway?

Edit: Also, I took a look at that offer, and it says allow 6 weeks processing time. I'm assuming they'll honor requests in order sent, as opposed to order received. That way, folks who postmarked their application don't get discriminated against.

 

I was going to mention they do say 6 weeks processing.

Sent my application via pdf/email yesterday @ 5:18PM and haven't heard anything back yet. I wonder if how you answered the questions about how much you spend per year and if you plan on selling anything affects whether an auction company will subsidize your membership? :scratch:

 

It's like how a certain network solutions company offers "free USB flash drives" for the first 250 respondents... which probably means "qualified" responses.

 

I had mailed my application last week and received an indirect acknowledgement by Friday when I received the e-mail about the ANA Board deciding not to renew the Executive Director's contract.

 

After all this time I finally got my membership info in the mail

Yep, I got mine about 10 days ago too...

 

Not sure why anybody in their right druthers would want an association with such a scandal ridden organisation that has clearly demonstrated that they are completely and undeniably out of touch with the collectors they are said to represent. The myriad of legal difficulties they have had in the last decade are a clear example of the ANA as an organisation on the way out.

as for why anyone would want to be a member, just being able to submit to NGC without buying a membership makes it worth joining
