These are three of my first significant coins ever purchased. Rather an embarassing group, that I thought were nice coins at the time. Flying eagle cent with some gook on the obverse Seated half dollar, looks dipped. Bust half, has a rim ding. I have learned alot in ten years, and still learning.
I don't think he meant what it sounds like. bk...we've all paid and keep paying for our numismatic education.
Those are all horrible. Why did you even buy them??? I would like to send you my address so I can take those horrible coins off your hands. There is no point for you to continue looking at them as they may end up hurting your eyes. LOL! Seriously, I find nothing wrong with them. I would have been so lucky to have those as my first coins. Instead, I had to settle for circulated Lincoln cents.
they all have problems, that I never noticed when buying them. At the time I thought they were all high grade. just being over critical I guess.
Nothing to be ashamed of imo. I bought many more damaged, uglier coins than that before I realized what I was supposed to look for (and I still don't fully know).
My first purchases were fillers from Virg Marshall's add in either Coinage or Coin World. Now those were truly low grade, but they made me very happy. I remember saving up for the minimum order. ($5 I think) While you may have overpaid, the coins are nice for a beginner.
I doubt he has any clue that he stumbled upon a derogatory term for the enemy during the Vietnam War. He's only been collecting for 10 years.
...ohh Gobbledygook, anyone over the age of 12 yrs old these days has seen the movie Platoon at least once...and that's all it takes :smile on a serious note though, I think the OP's coins are Beautiful and I would not be ashamed to have those in my collection. Also, nice photography skills buddy!
