When I bought it it was advertised as AU or better. But I wanted to know what number grade it would get. Can AU coins get a MS grade or is that reserved for uncirculated only? I'm assuming that 'or better' means uncirculated is there a chance this could be uncirculated, how would one tell the difference between an uncirculated coin with bag marks vs an extremely lightly circulated coin? I'm just curious really, I love the way the coin looks and I'm very happy with it, it will probably be my only St Gaudens as I just wanted to own one and looks like I got a good deal too, even though gold dropped $300 since I ordered it....the price to buy an AU+ St. Gaudens is actually higher now than what I paid for it.
I'd give it a ms62, or maybe an au58. Most Saints have some rub on the knees and chest yet are still given MS grades by the grading services. When the eagles chest had rub,.au for sure
