I have just received my ANA membership card in the post today, which I had hoped would be accompanied by my first issue of "The Numismatist." Unfortunately I'm still awaiting it's arrival. Hopefully it will be in the possession of my curatorial discretion very soon. P.S. I use the word post instead of mail to convince you that I'm a neo-loyalist who favors a return to British rule over the American colonies. :too-funny: I'm not entirely sure how alternating one word for another, having possession of the same basic definition, is to convince you that I'm in favor such political leanings, but there it is.:goofer:
Since you are a member now, you can also read the current and back issues online. just login: http://www.money.org/login.aspx then https://www.money.org/membership/members-only/the-numismatist-online.aspx Click "Archives" to see back issues.
There was an offer for a free basic membership to the ANA courtesy of Stack's Bowers Galleries in the latest issue of Coin World online. I decided to fill out the form and resume a membership I had to let lapse way back in 1989.
I wish I was into coins back in 1989. My collection would probably be more extensive and my numismatic knowledge deeper. However, being only four years old at the time, and my brain not possessing the neurological development necessary to appreciate the history, artistry and subtle nuance or variation of each coin...Well? If that coin was not being used to buy a toy or the occasional piece of candy then it posed no interest to me at the time.
