can you post the rev picture too? As I posted an 1904 O a few weeks back won here in a contest that had the same cud and was a vam is this coin a O or P Mint Mark?
That is a rim break, not a cud. A cud is defined as a rim break that extends into the fields, and denticles are considered an extension of the rim. Chris
Paddy, I post a reverse picture later. I am working on location until tomorrow. Thanks for the clarification, Chris.

[h=1]1904-O VAM-2A O Tilted Left, Clashed Obverse G[/h] Discovered by John Roberts, August 2005. Revised 2010 2A (revised) III21 · C4b (O Tilted Left, Clashed Obverse G ) (181) I-3 R-5 Obverse III21– Clashed die with partial G from God of reverse next to Liberty head neck. Same clashed G die as VAM 28A but later die state than VAM 28A or VAM 32. May have rim cud between B and U. Reverse C4b– Slight doubling of top two leaf clusters in left wreath. Same die as VAM 6. Die Marker: Polishing lines in wreath bow. Comments: The VAM 2A has a heavily polished reverse. Heavy polishing lines all over reverse The VAM 2A does not have a polishing line under LLAR, which is a prime pick up point for the VAM 28A and no doubling of OF or Trust. The BAR O was removed from the listing of the VAM-2A in 2010 by Leroy. The reference to the BAR O in the VAM Title was a typo. The VAM-2A and VAM-2 are completely different die marriages. The BAR O is now the new VAM-45, as of 2010. http://www.vamworld.com/1904-O+VAM-2A Have a look at the images and see how they compare with coin in hand to Vam worlds images and let us know I believe this is your coin. Why do some people keep referring to this kind of rim break as a "cud"? If you have a flat tire because the valve stem broke, do you call it a blow-out? Chris
That's just the terminology that I was introduced to. For instance, coppercoins lists "rim cuds" as a die marker for the 1972P-1DO-004.
Gives Chris a stiff drink and sez now now don't get your blood pressure up Chris..... Now Chris when your tire went flat did it go Boom or just hiss? Because if it went BOOM ! it's a blow out LOL
Paddy, remember the days when you had to look up the spelling or definition of a word in a dictionary? It seems that today, if it is good enough to be used for Google, Facebook, UTube or Wiki, then it must be right. Chris
Oh HE double hockey sticks Chris I remember having to diagram a sentence...... I also recall steel rulers ...running from a Nun.....
