    Hi folks.:smile

Doing a die variety of the day. This is a die that I discovered and got listed on coppercoins.com as 1989P-1DO-018. It is a light to moderate class VI (extra thickness) doubled die obverse that shows on the date, in LIBERTY, as well as the E of WE and the RU of TRUST. Enjoy and keep up the hunt!

Simon...I am sorry to say I don’t think the doubling on this 89P is very significant, minor at best. Do you think Wiles would list it in the CONECA listings? I for one think it is a mistake to list so many minor double dies in any listing...compare Wexler’s listings to CONECA’s. What happened to the un-spoken rule, if you can’t see it with a 10X loupe it is “too minor”?

I will say the notching on the L of LIBERTY may make your 89P borderline.

To each his own, Larry. I don't think it is very significant either, but it is still a DDO. I'm not saying this is one to "actively look for", I am just sharing a doubled die that I came across in my searches that turned out to be a new die. I have no idea if Wiles would list it, and frankly, I wouldn't care either way, as coppercoins.com is my main method of attributing varieties.
