So I have an MS65BN 1886 Type 1 Indian Head Cent that is incorrectly designated as a MS strike. It is definitely a proof coin with medium mirrors. I don't know how NGC overlooked this. Im sure there are more out there though. What would you do? Send it in and have them designate it as a proof, or just leave it be? Im not quite sure what to do with it. The value is higher as an MS (only slightly).
Me personally would prefer the slab was correct. Is it something they would do for free since they made the mistake?
I dont know if they would do it for free or not. Maybe I can call to ask. I have submission coming soon, so maybe I can throw this one in with the rest.
Yeah, get it in the right slab. Not sure if the guide would be that accurrate anyway. the slab says BN, but it is much more than that. It has some nice toning and if you can the PF 65 grade I think it would sell for more than guide as people would be paying for the toning.
