Sorry windchild, I thought you were talking about the grading classes, my bad! Those two classes sound really good and I am considering them for week one as well!

Haven't taken that course but have a few friends that have. They enjoyed it. The class takes advantage of the mini mint in the museum to show hands on how most types of errors are made.

    I don't grade well...

    Never could get past:
    Almost unreadable
    Very Worn
    Worn
    Fine
    Very Fine
    Extremely Fine
    Mint State
    FDC

Then again... I mostly try to grade ancients, as they are all different (longer attention span... I like visable differences) :D

Just sent off my application today! I went last year for the first time and took the course "Collecting United States Type Coins." That was one heck of a week!:D
This year I am hoping to take the course "The Coinage of Charles Barber" as my main collecting interests now are Barber Halves. Hope I see you guys there!

I have taken the course and I highly recommend it. Dr James Wiles is an excellent instructor and takes the time to make sure every student understands each topic before moving on. After taking the course you should have very good understanding of how coins are made and how errors and varieties happen (and the difference between errors and varieties). I would recommend taking this course first, before taking a grading course, because to understand strike (full strike, weak strike, etc.) you must understand what strike is and how coins are struck and what happens when a coin is struck.

Well as it turns out, I sent my application in. So I am hoping to get in. I also am filling an application through the PNNA [IMG]
I'm hoping to go First week Session 7 or 10. And I might take the MPC mini-seminar.
I've got to ask now, What happened to the Denver Mint tour? I was so excited because I'll be 18 and I took a look at the course catalogue and it is gone :(

Giving a bump here. I did not receive a scholarship from ANA or PNNA but I am still wanting to go. I may start looking for sponsors and donations to help me get there.
