The Perth Mint just released for sale about 10 minutes ago. Anybody else buying the Yellow-Bellied Sea Snake? I'll bet they are gone in a flash. Just placed my order with Downies.
I think there needs to be more coins with snakes on them in general because I think snakes are cool. I don't like the way colorized coins look in photos; I'd have to see one in hand and if it looked good, well that might change things. Something about the color just looks cheap to me. Makes me think of those half dollars that get printed witn Presidential nominees.
You are correct, sir. They look much better in hand. The illustrations tend to look a little cartoony. I am not a fan of colorized coins in general, but the Perth has done a great job with this series.
100 bucks USD :O Looks like I'll have to bite the bullet. Too bad I missed the other coins in this series. The RCM still hasn't sent my February coin for the O Canada 12 coin series!!! Been "processing" since feb 5th!!
Still a few around around. This series is very popular with the first release Red Back Spider selling for over $1000 (unbelievable).
