Does anybody have any links to online resources for diagnosing variations in the CB half dollar series?

Also looking for info on the Seated Quarter series and attributing any varieties there as well.

The reason I ask is because I have found 2 noticeable anomalies, one on each coin.

My seated quarter has a die crack starting at the 'D' in QUAR DOL. and running around the rim non stop, ending directly above the 'I' in AMERICA, fading out to the rim itself.

This is on an 1876-P Seated Liberty Quarter. Sorry about not having a picture, the coin is rather dark and isn't showing it well. Ill keep trying though. That's kind of why I need a diagnostic to look at it so I can look for any other markers.

Now I also have an 1829-P CBH. My question on this coin is about over dates or some kind of doubling. I did manage a shoddy picture on this though and was wondering if anyone could help attribute it or point me in a direction to look.

Here's the die crack on the 1876 Seated Quarter. Various sizes and lighting edits to help show it better.

    Your 1829 is an O.108a, R3

It's not as convenient as a hard copy of the guide, but this is a valuable resource for some varieties not listed in Overton's book.

Does that increase the value any? And if so by how much approximately?

Oh and thank you for the link. It's so aggravating trying to research sometimes from a phone.

No, Overton varieties generally don't start commanding premiums until R4+/R5. I say generally because this doesn't always apply to major varieties (Sm 8 '12/1, '13 50C/UNI, '14 E/A, etc). I'm referring more to specialist varieties in the first sentence.

There is the Briggs book, but as far as I know it has not been updated since published about 20 years ago. It is still a great reference, so if interested, look around since prices can be all over the map.

I might take it to my local guy this week. I need to speak with him anyway and he has a decent library. Ill be sure to ask about the Briggs book
