That's painful to look at. It looks like it has had a severe cleaning as well, most likely to remove the results of the corrosion, the bare metal portions show pitting from the corrosion.
It's worth a buck. I'd try every solvent around the house on it and try re-tone it i got that ****** off of it. everything short of a wirebrush.
What do we think the "stain" is ? How would you try to clean this one if you owned it ? I think this one is OK to clean.
