    Hello.

Curious is anyone can give me the value of one of these .999 silver reagan dimes?

My father likes, Reagan, silver, and dimes so I figured 1 or 2 of these may be a good birthday gift, at the right price that is.

Thanks for info you can provide.

If I really had to have it, the most I'd pay would be melt.

i have never seen one of these. as far as i know they are not from the mint directly. so i would say it's value is it's silver content which is less than $5 if it weighs as much as a regular silver dime(silver dimes are 90% silver). hopefully someone will chime in as well

.999 is all silver isn't it? or pretty close anyway. i could have swore i saw these listed as 1/10 oz, but cant seem to find any worthwhile info now...where were they made?

I think they initially sold for around $10.

yea i see them for around that on ebay, too much IMO if they're really only worth melt

edit. i offered the seller $5 shipped for one, they have them listed for $9 + shipping.

They are a privately minted one-tenth (or perhaps one-quarter) ounce silver round. They are worth their melt content to me.

while i agree with you, no one selling them seems to.

Well if it was going to be a gift for someone that I really know would like it. I would pay over melt for it. But probably not $9 dollars. I would go $5 like you mentioned. In a b+m you might be able to get that price but online with shipping makes that price harder to come by.

shipping, ebay fees, etc. yea it's a gift idea but if i'm going to overpay i'm going to get something bigger than a dime :)

i've seen a few .999 1 oz reagan rounds, at least with those he get's a full oz of silver

I have one...I have seen them in .999 silver (like mine and this one) and silver plated. They are kinda neat...at that time there was a small push to put Reagan on the dime (and remove FDR) so this private mint used that as an opportunity to sell a fantasy piece. I like them. I have seen them selling in the $10 range.

$9 shipped for a gift piece doesn't seem too unreasonable to me. It is a cool piece to me.

yea i throw $10 away on coffees, scratcher tickets, and god know what else throughout the week but overpaying for a fake dime is killing me for some reason. *slaps forehead*

Well if it is dime size, but .999 silver it is worth more than a 90% dime, and those are aroun2-2.50 last I checked, I don't regularly check spot prices. So lets go with $3 for this one. Shipping it may be about $2-3 depending on what it is sent in and I'd it has a tracking number. So you're only looking at a $3 premium on a gift, that could go up in value quickly. Plus, it could command a premium in the future for what it is not what its made of. I waste $10 on lots of stuff I don't value like coins, so I would scoop it up at the price. * And no I'm not the seller. But I am going to get me one.

I got a few in a mixed lot a couple of years ago. One was gold-plated; all claim to be .999 silver, and I believe they're 1/10 ounce, but I'm not positive about that. I'll try to remember to weigh one when I get a chance.

Since they're a private issue and apparently quite common, I don't see their future upside exceeding melt.

i got plenty of time to shop around.

every coin i've got from ebay has been shipped in a regular envelope with a postage stamp. then again i've only bought coins that were $2 and below.

i've seen him looking at coins lately, i'll see what he's interested in before i jump to Reagan conclusions i guess :)

    Reagan should be facing right.
    Also, THAT HAIR.
The reverse is obviously replicated - they could've improved (changed) that for better effect, too.

Why are most private mints producing crappy designs? Coins should be art, not trashy-looking.

I wonder: has anyone seen the Mulligan Mint .10 design?
