The weakest area in these is more often than not just left of the crack in the upper set of lines. This one's no different. That's the weakest area on this one. I think what Tom's saying is these lines are full enough for him, and I agree, they're full enough for me, too. I think what the rest of you are saying in effect is there's no way PCGS or NGC is going to give this gem a pass to play in their price guides at FBL, given how scarce FBLs are on this Date/Mint, and, you may be right about that, I don't know. But I do know I've seen 1963-D FBLs certified by these major TPGs, with lines weaker than this one. Bottom-line, these are pretentious calls, let's face it. I mean, now that we're into monkey grading. I mean, money grading. I mean, market grading. Yeah, that's what we call it.
I need to learn how to take better photos. I never get the white balance right even though I have read the manual 5 times. I wish I could capture the luster on this coin in the pictures. I am using a simple 100 watt light bulb for a light source so maybe I need something different. I have tried daylight too.I think I need a better camera.
Could you do a better job with the pics ? Yeah probably. But i think you did an OK job as it is. It's not the camera, it's the lighting and angles that you need to change. As for the white balance, yeah you can adjust that too. And you can do it in more ways than one. Your picture - Your picture after I corrected the white balance -
I agree with Doug 1000% :thumb:Photo/ Picture are 1 of Key tool on a Cointalk!!! Its almost most as good as having the coin in hand
