Funkee, believe it or not I am a little less than halfway complete for all 1934 series, 10 and 20... so I got a long way to go. Plenty more stars to whip this thread with...

But not today, today we are going to go large, positively huge... this came in the mail yesterday, the result of a long pursuit. It may at first blush look just like any old large size single, but it's the VERY tough red seal variety. Only one FR on the single has the large red seal, and they do not show up often, and less so in an affordable grade. The seal on this note pops and completes my collection of single seals...

Nice Large size MEC, I have 1 but mine would probably grade a 6... I got it in a large lot about a year ago. Sold most of everything else but kept this one because of the seal. Although at grade 6 it doesn't show particularly well...

Picked this lovely remainder up recently. I had bid on it before and lost, when it went for more than double what I won it for currently... Someone took a loss on it this time but I am happy to add it to my collection. It is a Mexico Banco de Tamaulipas, Tampico 1902-1914 Remainder, with great vignettes on both front and back!!! Oh and its probably as perfect as one could be...

I like that note TT, I was just looking at an UNC of it the other day on theBay, it's ABNCo so you know it will look good...

Well here is a note that has been in my mailbox for about 10 minutes... it's my first pre-1902 national, and I believe it is the only $10 Brownback known on this bank, one of the reasons I decided to splurge a little and spend a bit more than usual on an auction. Have been wanting to get an example of the pre-1902's, finally have, glad it is a rare one.

WOW that is a great new addition!!! Love the lady on this series but always thought it was rude for the eagle to stare... No such thing as a free ride....

Funny that I just got in a note that I splurged on as well... It is a New Large Size addition to my 66 Serial collection and I am extremely excited to have it in my hands!!! This is certainly one of my the top notes within my collection: (compliments of Jhon E Cash and my checking account)

TT - Great example on that Black Eagle...

Well should we throw a curve ball here? Yes, I think we shall... here is a remainder from Mexico, provisional government note from Mexico City, got it because well, I just liked it. Paid a bit more than I should have (Heritage buyers premium administers the fist of fury...) but still like the example, just neat. Coming up, some great new Egyptian gets, and some limeade...

Did I promise some Limeade? I certainly did. And here we go, this new pickup to my ever expanding collection of limes, sure am a sucker for it. This note came XF PPQ holdered and it is pretty snappy...

Thanks for the kind words and the likes!

MEC: That Mexican remainder is cool. I like the stealth Peso's on the back... and the bird...

I have a post on another forum listing the new additions to my 66 serial collection and it has resulted in me being contacted with the opportunity to pick up a couple extra notes. I had posted this circulated $20 and it lead to Billy at USARARE.com contacting me about a really tough to find $50 denomination note. The $50 is shown as well. (too bad they couldn't of matched exactly...)

Someone also posted this great 2006 $5 IA* and I was successful in getting them to sell it to me. If you have or find a #66 note, contact me...

I like that 66 star, nice TT...

And as promised, some new Egypt pickups. This 5 pound note is tougher to get in good shape, got a (sort of) affordable nice VF until I can somehow snare an AU or higher, love the design and colors on this note, both sides. This is a Bradbury Wilkinson, so it's got good design. It's a larger note too, definitely stands out... front has the National Bank building as it was in Cairo.

Lets go ahead and stay in Egypt for this next pickup, another of the WW2 era notes of Egypt during British colonial rule, like the above note. This is a 50 Piastres note, a little unconventional design, and I like that, and as often is the case with Egyptian notes, alot of great use of color.

Something new on the thread tonight! I picked these up on ebay and they arrived today. These are printers plate proofs from the National Bank Note Co., circa 1870s. The engraving is just incredible. Most of them are proofs of insurance policies, one is both sides of an advertising card (Continental), one is a stock certificate. I picked up several others but got tired of scanning.

The proof from the Western Insurance Company has a vignette of "Deer Drinking" which is a single proof I happen to have in my collection already. I posted it in an earlier thread: http://www.cointalk.com/t199225-2/#post1362563

I did promise more Limeade didn't I? Combine a lime green seal with the Dallas District and a nice XF holder and you have my next note, got this with my KC lime note, both sharp and a bargain price. Who doesn't like a bargain?

    My Newbie

Always had a thing for $2 bills. Just like them and love to buy packs of them from the bank and spend them around town. Freaks young people out who work at stores and never seen them before. That's kind of fun. So now I have finally decided in my old age to start picking up some older $2 bills, partly because so many of the old bills are beautiful compared to today's printings. So here is my first one.

Have a huge coin and paper money auction coming up soon and I might try to pick up a couple more there. Just depends on how much they get up to in price.

    Great notes and proofs everybody.

My latest Tampa National from the recent Stacks-Bowers auction.

Notes probably grades VF. It has a prominent horizontal fold, but really dark inks, crisp paper and nice embossing.

Always nice to get a home town note Steve...

Today's new pickup - I am going to change up and post this Scotland. Took a long time to get here but definitely worth the wait. This has all the things I love in a note - large size, cool color, and kick ass design. Oh, and I got a nice deal too, that's the other thing I like in a note...

You know that reverse rocks the Casbah.
