anyone find an indian head penny in circulation? I did...1907 plain

It took a little over $1000.00. Anyone else find an IHPs lately in circulation?

It's been many years for me.

 

My last IHC was about 4 months ago. I actually found a flying eagle in a bag from a coin counting machine once about 2 months before that.

I've found a total of 11 IHC's, 6 of which were all in one box, and 3 were in another, the other 2 were singles. I've searched about $6,000-7,000 worth in pennies to find them.

You really can find just about anything in circulation if you search enough volume. last year I also found a seated dime, a 3 cent nickel, a shield nickel and seated half dollar.

 

how do you get change from those green counting machines?

 

It wasn't from a coinstar. it was from a machine inside a susquehanna bank, I buy bags from that machine.

when my girl was cashier see would find a couple here and there. I was excited to see all the silver pre 1964 coins she hoarded over 8 years. nice stash.

 

Yes i find about 1 in every $500 of pennies.

 

Oldest cent I've found in circulation was a 1913. An IHC is a goal for the year.

 

I have found a total of seven of them since 2007. The oldest is an 1882 and I found that a couple of months ago. I found three of them a couple of summers ago in one $50 bag from the coin machine at one of my banks.

 

Right now my niece is a cashier in a retail store - she calls me when she finds good stuff to find out what it is worth etc. Getting her trained on saving good stuff for me.

 

No I haven't. The only thing I found was a 2kt Diamond Ring 18k Gold metal detecting on a beach in Maryland years back.

I still have it in my safe deposit box at the bank with my Gold coins and bars. I hope I never forget to pay my bank fees. LOL.

 

I found a single IHC and that was around 1984. It was a 1902 in EF used to pay for milk.
