I have a few questions for all of you fellow half searchers. Do you find very many 1987 or for that matter 1970 Kennedy's? I haven't found a single 1970-D while hunting but I have found about three 1987's that I'm holding onto because of the low mintage, anyone else doing this?

This is my first post here, so sorry if I mess this up. However, I have been getting a penny box every week for the last 3 weeks. In my first box I got twelve wheats, the oldest being a 1919 wheat cent. My second had about 10 wheats, and a 72% silver 1939 20 Centavos mexican coin. It is worth about $12, so that is awesome. My third box was kind of a bummer, with only 10 wheats, the oldest being two 1936 pennies.

    Best,

    PennyHunter

Nice! I think that may be a new record-- finding silver in a penny box. And also, welcome to CT! :welcome:

Getting cut off already at my pick up bank on halfs. Guess there was an issue on why they order halfs since most places dont use them , oh well they will still allow me anything else. box of nickels today. only 2 away from first roll of wars and I get skunked on silver. But i did however get another V nickel. 1902.

Wow amazing find. I've been doing this a couple years now and found my first walker a couple months ago. Good to be on the east coast where all the old coins are.

I have so many 87 and 87 proofs I don't even keep them anymore. The 70d is by far the hardest to get in circulation. I found 1.

out of three boxs of nickels the first was all 2013- skunk
the second brinks wrapped clear basically a skunk except maybe 10 or 15 pre '56
the third seemingly all 2013 produced a war nickel out of all the rest being 2013. I was really just opening them because my bank doesnt accept rolled ans since they were bwr I kinda figured it would be a slap in the face to turn in bwr .
anyway idk much about how coins are rolled and packed at the reserve/mint, can someone explain to me how this war nick ended up among all these brand new nickels? thank you
