Everything hypothetical as stated, I'm much more suspicious of (yet undiagnosed) dementia than 'scam' (on the elder's part): http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/h...entia-writes-diary-detailing-care-wishes.html Seeing dementia in a parent and this saddens me also. (Evidence: poor judgements and peculiar behaviors, etc.) The neighbors have been suspicious longer than I, but close family friends (same-age elders) are still doubtful or in denial. Most tellingly, this parent feels especially threatened by random call solicitations for investments. It's absolutely certain predatory scammers know the score here, it's not just ONE call per year! Folks obviously need to be more aware how prevalent this grifting becomes as a parent becomes elderly. Likewise, it's surprising that (middle-aged?) posters on CT are doubtful coin-shops knowingly grift from elderly women. (Everyone else knows they're ideal targets: why would the the coin-racketeers be any different???) Is the 'numismatic ripoff' thread about an older widow, also? Geez, wake up and smell the coffee burning already! This mundane grift even has trade-phrase: "getting killed" http://www.coinweek.com/tips-for-ne...ection-and-guarantee-you-get-the-right-price/ Here's another elder-abuse article, abit more literal to the terminology: http://seattletimes.com/html/localnews/2018963716_fleming22m.html
hey he is a couple days late ive been following this post from the beginning and had a great time following it and im ready for some closure where is biged?????
Big Ed is probably still on his fishing trip, or else his lady friend's husband found the two of them rummaging through her drawers looking for a receipt!
Hello Group I just back from my fishing trip. Went to her house Friday night. She still has company and they are not in any hurry to back up north. We tried to get away but then there was a big thunder storm came up. So I am contacting her this afternoon to see if she can email it to me when she gets a chance. I know everyone here is wanting a closure on the receipt but my hands are tied as far as what I can do. Thanks Biged
Please tell me that made it to a frying pan! I don't do catch and release. When I go fishing, it's because I'm hungry for some fish!
Blaubart Sorry no. I am catch and release when it comes to Bass. I will eat crappie and sunfish. All salt water fish. Thanks Biged
To each his own, but man that would have hit the spot. I used to go fishing with my grandpa early in the morning in Nevada. I remember we came home a couple of times with bass and my grandma would start cooking them up singing "Bass for breakfast, bass for breakfast..".
