I screwed up the last contest and the thread was closed under this rule: Any non-numismatically related contest is not allowed. I didn't mean to do it but that is correct so I will get this one right.
First if you private messaged me under last contest you are entered in this new and improved contest. Please don't answer again i have enough PM in there already. You will be entered so don't worry.
The end of the contest is Tuesday March 26 at 6PM Central Time. Anyone that answers the question correctly will be entered into a drawing. My daughter will draw the winners..yes winners. 3 total:
First prize: a 1943-S Coin set
Second prize: 2 1945-D UNC Jefferson War Nickels
Third prize: 1 1945-D UNC Jefferson War Nickel

Here is the question. I know it's not very hard but it numismatically related per the rules. Please PM your answer to be entered.

In this 1943 coin set the Lincoln Cent is different than all other year Lincolns. What is the difference and why?

    Good luck.

    Just A Wild Guess!!

Since I don't have the set to examine, I'll have to submit a guess that maybe it is one or more of the general or specific following: A different colored cent, of harder material, plated, lacking Copper, finest known Bronze cent produced in the S.F. mint, lowest population Bronze "S" mint Lincoln, minted between 1942 and 1944?

Why? IT ONLY EXISTS IN THAT SET?

I hope that I win!! Thanks for the contest, it was fun. LOL :thumb:

    A Failure To Communicate!!

Although I believe most responders read and understood the contest terms, until an answer was posted with a public witticism acknowledgement by the OP, without correction. Rather than a public correction, that precedent precipitated my posted response.

I assumed that others would in like-kind follow the public posts, producing enlightenment by the contest, until we were publicly notified/reminded of the original contest terms.

Thanks for your efforts, and I hope that our submissions haven't been invalidated. I, as other public submitters, probably wanted to win. LOL :thumb:

Ok. About 80 entries total in the contest. Too many names to make tags and put them in a hat so I did a random number generator and picked 3 numbers that way. You don't have to thank my daughter this time but some faceless computer program for your luck. Going to end the contest now. And here come the winners:

First place and the winner of the 1943-S Coin Set: fretboard

Second place and the winner of 2 1945-D War nickels: lincolncent

Third place and the winner of a 1945-D War nickel: Lord Geoff.

    Congrats to all the winners!
