    These are brandspanking new!!
    2011 Improperly Spaced Error MS65.
This is a very rare error for the presidentials.
    I only seen a few in 2007!

This ones an obverse strike through that NGC actually acknowledged!
Also pretty rare on the presidentials.

I found both of these in the same box and submitted them to NGC right away.
It took them about 50 days to return to me! They have been slacking pretty bad lately.

Improperly spaced lettered edge rare on the Presidential??? I considered it to be common enough to not be considered an error.

I agree. I see it, along with other nonsense, quite often. You would think the mint could do a little better job with the edge lettering, but at the rate the machines spit the coins out it's probably next to impossible.

What do you think improperly spaced edge lettering is? If your thinking its just a shifted edge you are wrong. NGC will not acknowledge shifteds at all.
Google improperly spaced error. They are pretty rare indeed.

Its also not just a shifted with a star overlapping a MM. I have a few of those that got the "overlapping edge error" label. Theres not many graded with this error at all. Ive made the mistake of sending a few pretty big shifted edge errors in to NGC only to have them unattributed.
Im not able to find another improperly spaced error, graded, after the year 2007. Perhaps NGC screwed up yet again?
One would think its just a plain shfited edge lettering, which are very common. One would think that the description of the mm overlapping a star would be Improperly spaced. NGC might not even know?
If you can show me a few more presidentials graded with this error by all means show me. Maybe Im not looking hard enough?

lll-O-1 Overlapping Edge Motto or Design (WE)

Overlapping edge letteror design are defined as: A Planchet which was rolled or turned to receive impressions between a pair of edge dies, which were out of adjustment or which had al slippage in the drive mechanism, showing on the struck coin as overlapping edge impressions from the two dies.

This error type is not very rare at all with any coin that has edge lettering a perfect example would be Bust halfs Please note the following images of a 1836 Bust half with letter edge error -2error.jpg -3 error.jpg -4error.jpg -5 error.jpg -6error.jpg Note the edge lettering should read" Fiffty Cents or Half A dollar" with *{stars} breaking up the text this edge reads Fifty cents H OR A L F A Dollar

I'd be curious to know where you got your stats from that would indicate they are rare since NGC doesn't separate errors from normal coins in the census.

I would never think anything to do with the rim is an error from the mint anyways ! The mint doesn't stamp the rim, its done from an outside company !!! :dead-horse:

Not in 1836 it was not done by a contractor the edge lettering was done by the US Mint!

Rick, I was referring to the OP's claim of the rarity of his error, but even at that, the article from NN mentions nothing about rarity for that particular coin.

Then why post a coin in a thread that has nothing to do with the original post on Edge lettering error?
And the discussion of said error?
