I recently purchased some coins on Craigslist and included were about 120 of the worst condition wheat pennies I've ever seen. Regardless, I found this in the bag with the rest. It is a 1958D Wheat Penny with a full strike on the front. However, the back is blank. I am no error expert. Any value to this? Thanks for any and all help!

Looks to me like It has been polished flat to be used on a game board such as Shove a Penny or Half Penny, judging by the rounded edges on the reverse.

Definitely damaged. The lack of rims is one of the first indicators. Likely sanded down or something similar.
    Keep up the hunt!

Thanks for all your help. I have passed it on to another person so I can't weigh it.

  11. I have one just like that except theres a very light imprint of the wheat stalks. I had a bunch of people stated that it was worn but it wieght just like a mint shape wheat penny.

this could be a mint error , sometimes two planchets enters the coining chamber at the same time. in this case only the obverse side of one coin and the reverse side of the other gets struck by the dies. this coin even looks like it may have been pushed down into another planchet and created a rounded edge. I can see what looks like it may be some of the original mint luster on the blank side of this coin. the original mint luster would be hard to replace on a coin. if this is real it would be a uniface coin.
