I wasn't implying you were trolling, MEC on the other hand... who has now been (rightfully) suspended I see. I'm no stranger to calling someone out spouting nonsense, including our young OP, which I've done a few times already. More than anything, I'm trying to help the guy out.

FYI and as had been suggested many, many times before, you might want to actually "research" instead of making assumptions worded as fact.

Hard to believe this started out as a thread on paper currency. It's easy to tell the thread is from a coin guy, they're the posters that mention grades as "MS" (mint state) on printed paper money.

So, basically...you're trying to take advantage of an old collector because he doesn't know what his collection is now worth. I understand this person is a antique dealer and should know the value of what he is selling...but his shop doesn't specialize in coins. I'm all about getting a good deal but this doesn't seem right in my gut.

Well its not ripping off. Its getting a good deal. Its not like I offered face or x2 face.

I actually changed my post right after I posted it because I felt "ripped off" was a bit too strong. However, buying silver from someone at "50-70 % silver melt" when that person "doesnt know they are worth that much now" is at the very least taking advantage of someone. Just keep that in mind before you buy too much. What you are doing is wrong.

And just in case it isn't clean...what I put in quotes came directly out of previous posts you made in this thread.

Buying silver from someone who doesn't know better than to sell at 50% melt is as bad as buying it for face and not saying anything. I'm betting this guy does know better but sees a little kid who's interested I coins and wants to help him along in his collecting efforts since the owner himself is no longer interested in coins. I hope he gets on here and sees this thread.

Quick question since your a dealer and like to take advantage of the less knowledgable. Are you the dealer that sold 9 rolls of 90%ers to that old lady in Florida for 8000 dollars? (sarcasm).

Im not in Florida, and I dont sell for high prices. I sell for wholesale.

+1 Even if this guy does not deal in coins, he supposedly does antiques and this is enough to necessitate having some level of familiarity with metal values. I too believe that it is this man is simply trying to help a kid with his collection, and that if he knew of this young man's claimed intentions, that he would not be so willing to cut deals.

Regardless, the unfortunate point is that our young friend seems to think fairness does not apply to him, most likely because of his age. Fortunately, sooner or later he will be in for a rude awakening.

You should stop posting on my threads. You keep on assuming way too many things. I am pretty sure that due to my age, I get better deals. And yeah mabye he does know silver prices, and is just helping me out. So? Why not take advantage of this situation while I can.

Key word in your last post "take advantage".
