I agree with colombia 5 pesos. Lost some weight on that one, 0.5 g. That medio balboa is cool. The KM 12 is a nice silver series to collect with some low mintage circulation key dates and nice proofs. I have mostly those from 12a 1966 and onwards. I think Panama is some of the best 20th century latin coins to collect. On the grade, let me take a guess, AU 50.
Thank you. Struggled a little with the lights. For this coin, I took the photo through a hole (glass part of lens size) cut in a diffuser plastic sheet. I did the lighting from the top rather than the usual sides. This avoided the dark camera refection shadows. I think this method would be could for mirror proofs also.
just now got this Cuban 1 peso 1988 copper coin. I have the copper nickel coin already. I have not seen this copper coin in about 12 years of searching. there are 2 of this coin on ebay right now. had to get 1 of them. check the mosquito out. very cool. I also put this pic in with the "got bugs ?" thread. this coin is being put in the "coins with insects" collection. cool to finally see this coin in copper. and it's larger than the copper-nickel coin too.
1840 Poland 1 Groszy I just posted this NEWP in the Polish coin thread. It is an 1840 Poland 1 Groszy.
Did you guys see that it was struck over another coin and not clean planchet? I am still working on finding what is going on. The weight of the coin is 0.1 g heavier than normal (2.6 g vs. reported 2.5 g). I think there is a possibility that it is the 0.5 silver (as indicated on coin) struck on 0.9 previous year coin.
Yes, that sounds reasonable and more likely, thanx. I have three other coins from KM series. Will check their weights in lab tomorrow. When I looked at the others. I remembered I have the 1891. Very rare coin.
just bought it off Ebay. a Spain 1870 1 centimo. hard to get in this high grade. I mainly got it for the lion. I will try to do the 1,2,5,10 denomination set in high grade. there's a 10 centimos in AU that's incredible on Ebay now but I do NOT have $200.00 now ugh. oh well. I realized there's a big scratch on the right of the seated woman but I can live with it. :thumb::yes:
