I just read the entire post quoted. All I could imagine was an unteachable 21 year old trying to teach the facts of life to an 11 year old.

 

Well.... lets just add up a couple other things he's posted and make it coincide with that post (March 13, this year). Let's just say that he is being truthful on that post, and that his "learning" took place the day he posted. That would make him, if you believe that he's 4 months past his 21st birthday, have his birthday approx. November 1991 or before. Yet he also posted on March 5th of this year: "None of the stores here start at more than minimum wage. I was 15 years old when I 1st started working at Hy-Vee."

So, if he 15 when he started HyVee, he would have had to have had a birthdate of August 26, 1991 or later, now putting his birthdate sometime between then and about November 13, 1991, if he's to be believed on these threads and his facebook. But on Nov 3, 2012, he states "I am 20." in this thread. (http://www.cointalk.com/t217081/#post1567746). So now, that leaves only November 4-13 of 1991 that could be his birthday for him to be 21 already if he hasn't lied on at least one of those threads or FB. Let's see if we can eliminate those dates, too.....

My guess is that he actually posted his real bd (complete) on another forum he joined last year.... That makes it about 1 month and 4 days to go.

It is really of no importance to me how old he is or when his birthday is. If we assumed his age by how he acts, I would put him right there with the above-mentioned 11 year old. A few googled words is all the effort I was willing to expend in trying to show you were the 21st birthday thing came from. Every time I see a new Timmy thread, my mind flashes back to his "Find Me A Holder" thread from around this time last year in which he basically told us we were all lazy for not finding him a few dollar junk nickel holder upon his demand. Nothing has really changed as it is the same childish nonsense all over again… and again and again. I do enjoy the train wreck from time to time, but in the overall scheme of things, his antics and day-to-day life is of no personal importance to me.[/FONT]

My pawn shop experience in 1969 LOL. I reserved one day on my vacation in London to do nothing but go to pawn shops. I had eight cartons of Marlboros (from an Army PX) in a backpack. I ended up with a LOT of nice coins, especially Indian Head 1c for some reason. US cigarettes were highly taxed but still very popular, and readily saleable; they were probably gone in a day. US coins might have languished forever in some of those dark sleepy stinky pawn shops. And most of the proprietors reeked.

Ok I have to know, Why is everyone so hard on Detecto? Is there a story behind this guy? How does everyone know he is a 21 year old deadbeat that lives off mommy and daddy with coin debt and no job?

 

I was thinking child labor laws because his posts seemed very elementary

 

Kind of reminds me of some of the oversized, over odiferous and obnoxious anti-social types that hangout at gun shows, and coincidentally - coin shows.

 

I can understand our boy Tim , not wanting to work for minimum wage at a Mcjob.

We need to find him a job that pays like $500+ a week with few required skills and isn't that hard.

It's a pretty kickback job. Pretty much pass the DOT physical exam ( no need to study), get FBI checked ( fingerprinted) then when that's done get the public passenger endorsement added to your license and you are hireable ....it could take a month or two for the paperwork, but I think 30k a year is very doable.

I'm considering it myself, I'm much older at 49. My local taxi company pays $10 hour plus you keep your tips ( of course) and they pay the gas, I figure that would be $15/hr easy !

Other places ( cities) lease you the cab for a daily fee and you pay the gas, but keep the fares and tips.

I live in a very small town of 6,000 people in Ct. Cabs are needed everywhere. I imagine much of the work in Essex, Ct would be taking seniors to their doctors, and stuff like that.....maybe an occasional run to the Hartford airport ( 65 mile cab rides are expensive, Maybe $150 there ? ). I could see somebody saying take me to the casinos....probably close to a hundred for that ?

I don't think I've ridden in a taxi more than 5 times in my life, and I lived in Vegas for 6 years.

I think Timmy could drive a cab successfully and make decent "coin" doing it.

 

Yes, I think Timmy should be a Cabbie !

I understand the selling, but never bought anything from a pawnshop? Might be worth it to swing by a couple, sure a lot are over priced but there's usually always something hiding for a fair price or even a deal, i know of one in my hometown that started selling silver dollars and .999 for melt, which is the cheapest in town.

 

In the front of the cab, there's a hidden button. Push it, and the stereo starts playing Pink Floyd's MONEY, then a sign snaps down over your license, and it reads:
