    It can be used on silver, but it won't work. Date restoration only seems to work on nickels.

    It is relative. It will work the silver as any acid would ( dip), but it will not differentially bring up certain features as on Cu-Ni coins due to crystal structures changes under striking. Instead it will act as an acid dip, etching away where ever it is deposited. If it did, or if any process did, there would be less discussions on whether a well worn 1916 dime is a 'D' or not.

    And the market for "dateless w/mint mark" SLQs would be very different. :)
