How old is detecto? Is there not child labor laws where he is from? In Minnesota your not allowed to let underage people work more than (20hpw?) I think
What difference does it make that he is not educationally qualified for your example, and too absorbed in his delusions of grandeur for mine? He clearly refuses to accept the realities of this business and is therefore unable to do either job, so the end result is the same; continued unemployment. If you take this into consideration, my post was to the same basic point as yours.
Let us stay on focus here so we can get to 11 pages seemlessly. We are overdue for Detecto's latest drama already and we haven't even novelized this thread...
Whilst I was out driving around dodging people in the snows this morn a disturbing thought crossed my mind. Detecto went and bailed his coins out of pawn jail. Where did that money come from? What if he went and snuck out and got a job and didn't bother to tell us?
I believe he already has, and some time ago. In a not-so-recent thread he, for whatever reason, spoke of it being 3-4 months past his 21st IIRC. Of course, this is assuming that any reasonable percentage of what he says is truthful as his attention seeking continues.
I think he's about a month away from 21. Closest I can figure is it might be in the latter half of April. He should be getting his "birthday money" and I expect we will hear about what he's able to buy when he gets it. I somehow doubt he plans to use birthday monies as a way to pay off bills. But that's his choice.
PCGS Price Guide Values ONLY have weight if you are a coin dealer selling to an uneducated buyer. It's a "guide" not an "absolute".
His MO says he's already bought the coins and is waiting until the birthday money comes in to pay for them. Then, about 4 months after getting the coins, he'll be visiting his favorite pawn shop.
Honestly, if I was 20 years old, living off my parents, and still had large debts I wouldn't want people to know about it on a public forum. However, I found the solution for you. Since coins created your financial problem in the first place get rid of the coins! It's the same type of thing you would do to a heroin addict. Sell the coins, pay off you debts, live debt free. I know you will probably not listen to any of us but at least we will be able to sleep at night thinking we tried. Then next week we get to due it again when you post another embarrassing story that should never have happened to you in the first place. Come on guys keep posting! We need to make it to 11 pages.
