I wanted to share with you all some new items I picked up today at the Baltimore show. Feel free to post your new pick ups in this thread.
I been putting together a type set for some time now made my list and went to the show around mid day. I ran into {Penny Guy} A dear old friend "lets face it Bill we are old" LOL PG had his two cent display set up very nice expo on the U.S. 2 cent piece. He had his collection of 2 cent pieces that to me is second to none on display also. Very well done Bill

So Like I said I had my list one of the items I was on the hunt for was a U.S. Silver 3 cent a trime (1851-1873) I wanted something from the 1860's US civil war period. What I found made me smile ear to ear. An 1862/1 Variety 3 and yes an over date! Mintage on the 1862 US 3 cent is 343,000.

The US 3 cent piece is the smallest silver coin.Designer James B Longacre{ 1851-1853} weight .80 grams comp. .750 silver .250 copper dia 14 mm plain edge, mints Philadelphia, & New Orleans 1854 -1873 weight .75 grams comp. .900 silver .100 copperdia 14mm 023.jpg 024.jpg Plain edge all from the Philadelpha mint.

You can see in the image the 2/1 over date on the obv. as well as some doubling on the rev. side of the coin.

Here is my other 1865 3 cent nickel that the new silver will be paired with in my type set. This coin as you can see has some great clash marks in it. 1865_3_cent-2-crop.jpg 1865_3_cent-1 R-crop.jpg 1865 Nickel Three cent Reflection.jpg

Nice, the clash on that nickel is strong. Mine just has the outline of the head on the reverse but yours is heavy, which I like :D

Thanks Mat I try my best to shop my coins for eye appeal .... and do my best to cherry pick the varieties and errors too.

    NICE coin.
The impressive part is that the "III" appears to have full ribbing.
    Hard to find that way.

I picked up two middle grade, late date large cents; not worth imaging at this time.

But I also got a coin I've been looking a LONG time for.
It's a lower grade than I'd like to have and it's RAW.
Since I want it to complete my Registry Set for this issue I hope it'll go into a graded slab with the attribute.

1809, "o" in "0" Half Cent (it was sold as a VG but I think it might make F)
