I'm not going to call out a "least favorite", because I once did that (Barbers), and now I seem to be mostly focused on them. I'd hate to find myself in a year or two focusing on Ikes or SBAs. Or, worse yet, Presidential dollars. ("Hey, I only need one or two more to complete my Rainbow Set -- I've got everything from gold down to rust-stained brown, but I don't have a plating-all-worn-off uniform gray specimen yet!") FWIW, though, I like the Sac designs.
I am probably alone on this, but Buffalo nickels... I don't mind the buffalo, but the indian just looks wrong to me. Never have been able to like this series....
Barber coinage. Ive been so bored with a fellow coin geek at work that I've recreated the conversation between Barber and St. Gaudens regarding changing the designs in 1913 as I imagined it occurred. More than a little profanity.
I don't really dislike any of these, however I had to pick one so I went with the Roosevelts. I used to not like Ikes, but first it wasn't an option on here and second, I have grown to like them a lot because they are fun to spend and get peoples reactions.
I chose Silver Eagles as i like coins that have some history of use rather than just for the collector or investor. Most of my coin collection has been circulated, which brings out a certain charm to the coins , often highlighting the design details.
Yes your right I forgot about that one, I prefer the $5 & $2 1/2 of that period. Do you not think the peace dollar is is similar to the $10?
I had to choose Morgan Dollars not because I dislike the design but because they are so overrated in my opinion.
What's up with all the Franklin hate? I happen to like old Frankie, there's always so much character in those old coins. Franklin was never president and that's one of the reasons I like the coin so much, he was the first non-president to be honored by the issuance of a regular-issue US coin.
I would have to agree with you there. Although I think the front of the Morgan is awful looking, however love the reverse.
The day Honey Boo Boo is on a coin is the day I sell my collection at face value and shoot myself in the face
I voted for Roosevelt dimes. I have nothing against them, but as I get older, it gets harder to see the little itty bitty coins. I would have voted for whichever coin was the smallest on your list. I guess that is why I collect dollars.
