Barbers, any of them. Everytime I see one I just feel blah, like it's a Greek figure with a wreath you'd see in any museum. I can't even tell if it's a male or female even though I know it's supposed to be lady liberty. I do enjoy the reverse though. The barber image thing just irks me.
Washington Quarters... I don't mind the Eagle, but I have a severe dislike of Washington (Loyalist Family ) Then Jeff nickels, followed by Franklin halves (I seem to not like the early presidents... wonder why )
I went with ASE. I love coins, that were meant to be coins. To me the ASE is a cheap ripoff of a classic design being used to pimp bullion.
Certain varieties of the 1793 LCs. I realize their historic importance of course, but Lady Liberty looks like Sibyl in a wind tunnel. I had a girlfriend that looked like that, and it didn't end well.
Shield Nickels are pretty ugly, but I'd have to say Barber anything are the worst. Love that Flying Eagle cent.
Peace dollars, followed by Sacs, SBAs, Ikes, Kennedy Halves, and any coin after 1964. I like specie to be worth something. But I've found the designs are just flat on all those coins except for the 1921 peace.
I believe your distaste for them was shared by Americans at the time they were minted Chain cent especially, the portrait is even more crude and the chains were taken as an illusion to slavery...
Franklins..... I'm surprised I'm the first to say that. Then again I've seen coins I enjoy on this list as well. guess Frankie's not on the list, so I'm going with Rosie's
Silver Eagles look nice, but to me aren't a real coin (never meant to circulate) Cons that look OK to nice in VF+, but become rather ugly in lower grades (VG and below): Barbers, Standing Liberty Quarters, Mercury Dimes, Walking Liberty Halves It's not the fault of the coins themselves, but I avoid non numismatic Peace and Morgan Dollars because dealers have by far the largest margins on them. Far better value to buy halves or quarters.

Roosevelt Dimes are an OK (not great) design, but checking dates for 1964 or before on such a small coin is much more difficult than for Washington Quarters.
