Your 73-D looks to have a ghosting effect as opposed to clash marks.

 

Its raised. i think it was a clash they tried to abrade away. it has heavy abrasion marks as well.

 

I love die cracks as well and go out of my way to specifically collect them:

thats an error! ahhhhh! i just spent one! i thought it looked ugly!:dead-horse:

 

it was the toning on the '73 D that caught my eye to begin with. they had been in a burlap sac since the 70's and a few of them toned up really nicely.

 

wow! that die was ready to SHATTER! its like a puzzle waiting to be torn apart. very nice!

 

i cant forget my favorites of the bunch. lovett defaced the dies himself.
