1980's error pennies.

    In the last couple days I've found a dozen 80's error coins. Common?

    It depends on what you think is an error, do you have pictures of the coins in question?

    If you mean by the surface looks blistered, then yes.

    You need to be more specific as to what you mean by "error". The 1980s had a lot of plating issues, including an abundance of plating blisters that can be found commonly on the mid to late 80s cents.Keep up the hunt!

    What I'm talking about is around the rim on the obverse, it looks raised, like a mound. I will see if I can get photos.

    I think I know what you are talking about. Does it look like the area was "pushed up" around the tops of the letters? If so, this would be a mix of plating issues and die fatigue.

    My penny has part of the date missing also part of liberty it’s almost smooth looking. Like it was punched wrong. Can anyone help????

    This thread you posted on is from March 2013.. Start your own unique thread with pictures. Faded looking devices which are the dates and letters is usually a worn die strike and struck through debris issue. Common on many coins.
