Has anyone ever seen these quarters represented as "Binion" Silver ? It is supposedly a "Silver Binion Sampler" by the New Quarter Company. I don't know about "sampler" since all the quarters are 1964. Only the outer box is stamped "Binion". Each quarter is UNC but other than the outer sleeve, how does one verify these to be from the Binion Hoard? Any ideas, anyone?
In all likelihood, they probably are not from the Binion Hoard. It may be that the person who came up with this scheme just happens to have the same last name. If they were truly from the Binion Hoard, why didn't they market them with a certificate of authenticity? Chris
Maybe someone just assumed they were from the Binion hoard because of the Binion stamp, or that's what the seller was hoping for when they stamped the box? I'm not sure if the TPG's have slabbed quarters from the Binion hoard, but I do know PCGS and NGC have done Morgans and Peace dollars from Binion. That would be the only way I'd buy them if you wanted to be assured they were Binions. .
I do have several Morgans and a few Peace dollars slabbed from the Binion Hoard. This is why I was interested in this set of quarters. I messaged the seller and he/she said they bought them off a TV market show. LOL Said they had a receipt listing them as "Binion" but I still asked for further provenance. A COA would do nicely. Even so, these are 10 very nice MS 63 or MS 65 1964 1/4's, likely worth about $10 each. They are in a nice velvet hindged box and each one is placed in a round coin holder. But as for Binion, ahhh can't get behind that one either. Thanks folks.
based upon what the seller is stating they sound like TV hype items trying to grab the unsuspecting buyers.
