Not usual fond of circ-gold, but this 69-S twenty is a beaute! Very nice newp, millrat. Congrats :thumb:
Still looking for a chain cent, but I liked the look of this wreath and was able to work a deal to buy it.
Beautiful rich looking toning for a gold piece, what an honor to own. Congrats! May I ask the grade though?
1829/1827, O.102a R5 This a rare die-state. Only a handful of the halves produced from this die marriage exhibit the die crack extending from the rim, through 9, and to the hair above. On later die-state examples, the crack can be seen as far up as the clasp. In the third image I've drawn some arrows pointing to the die crack's trajectory and where recutting is most visible on the date.
Won these two last night on eBay. These are the sellers pics. I will post better pics when I recieve them.
Nothing spectacular, but got this in the mail today. It's amazing to me how low the value is on this series considering the mintage #'s. 56K for this one.
New addition to my ancients. A type that easily goes for over $100 and I got it for more then half, scarce reverse to boot. Caracalla (198 - 217 A.D.) Beautiful coin, and rare to boot. Do you mind me asking where you got it? I am always searching for similar bust half dollars.
of the 2 proof sets I got today, 1968 and 1970, these 2 Jeffersons looked really interesting to me, ever so slightly toned
