This is my first contest so here it is: The first person to name all nine mints past and present of the United States wins a US Philippine Type coin in EF or higher. Rules: By posting an answer, you agree to the rules of the contest. 1. Your entire answer must be in a single post, i.e. not 5 mints listed in one post and 4 in another. You can edit your post at anytime. 2. You need to be 18 or older OR have permission to give out your address over the internet. (so I can mail the prize to you). 3. Once your prize arrives, you need to update the thread with a picture (if you have a camera) and at least a 100 word description of the coin, to include grade, mintage and coin designer. Any additional information will be left up to the winner. The intent is to be somewhat educational so if you are not interested in fulfilling that responsibility, please do not play.

I was honestly studying the mints yesterday! I've been trying to enhance my knowledge on my U.S. coinage by studying the mints that they used to come from! Guess the studying paid off!
Nice! I had them all typed in, and then I copied the text and refreshed the page to see if anyone beat me to it. I had to do a little research to find Manila. I was about to put in The Dalles, but they never finished construction on that facility. Congrats!
I was scratching my head for the 9th, so I went to Google. I stumbled across mention of The Dalles on the Wikipedia page for the United States Mint: "A branch mint in The Dalles, Oregon, was commissioned in 1864. Construction was halted in 1870, and the facility never produced any coins, although the building still stands."
Hmmm, that's interesting... I wonder what sort of mint mark would have been placed on coins from there? Wonder if it'll ever start up?
I kinda have my doubts. It was commissioned in 1864 and axed in 1870. It has since changed hands a couple of times and is now a winery. We usually head out to the Oregon Coast every couple of years and when we do, we drive through The Dalles. We might have to stop by for a tour in the Summer of 2014. If there's anything Mint related, I'll make sure I take photos and post them here.
