I found a 1925 Canadian Nickel in a roll today. I looked on eBay and they are selling for up to $80 for a circulated one like mine and seems to be the key date of the series. Anyone have any mintage numbers or the worth of this and condition?
Awesome find! It is the key for the series. I just sold one very similar in grade to that one, probably lower actually. Can't tell if yours is, but mine was cleaned. I got around $40 for it. Here is the completed listing with images. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=281069429337#ht_500wt_1180
I am no expert, but it doesn't look cleaned at all. At first I pulled it out and thought wow never pulled a Canadian coin this old and hours later, being now I decided to look it up and I am pleasantly surprised.
Wow wow wow. Pictures are blurry, but I think in that condition get it graded. Might be worth it, dpeending if you want to keep it or not.
I use my iphone and it isn't the best for coins. From what you can see what grade or price would you put on it?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAP...20714813948&item=120714813948&vectorid=229466 its at 480, and is only XF45, and has 3 bids. Yours might be AU55+ hard to tell though.

I have yet to send a coin to get graded, but I may send this one. I am going to my LCS later this week so I will get their opinion if they think its cleaned or anything, which I don't think it is.
Mintage is 200,000. I would grade this in the G-VG range. Guessing around $40-45 Have it graded? I certainly wouldn't spend the money on a low dollar coin, but to each their own.
Did you find that in a bank roll of Canadian nickels? I didn't think that was even possible anymore! Which bank did you get it from? (Addition) Ah, I see you're in the U.S.... so much for being a Canadian bank. lol
Found it in a customer wrapped US roll which is even weirder. I stopped by a TD Bank on my way home from work. I only had $30 in cash and wanted to get a couple rolls to search. I got $20 in CWR in Dimes which I pulled 2 silvers and 5 rolls of Nickels only one being a CWR which had this coin in it. So I am wondering if someone cashed in some of a collection with their change. I am going to go there after work and get the rest of CWR is they have anymore.
If it's not cleaned and is problem free, I bet you would end around $80 for it. Maybe more, depends who sees it and how good your images are.
The picture may be the problem. I don't know where the cord is that connects it to my computer and I know a blurry picture will lose me a few bucks.
It looks much lower grade to me as well(VG at best) .. just look at the crown and the definition there. Then go to any routine guide on approximating condition/grade. Paying $20 to grade a well-circulated $40 coin doesn't seem a wise investment. Having it graded certainly won't help to sell it, if the grade is below VF30. It's a nice find .. put it in your collection or use it for trade bait.
