What is a birthday note? The nearest i can figure out is the serial number is a date. If this is right, Do people really collect them? I just looked in my wallet and found a $5 with the serial number JG12072008A. Is this a birthday note?If it is, is there a premium price for these? I have never collected currency so any help would be appreciated.

Some people give these out as gifts to friends and family. Perhaps you can make a small premium if you find the right buyer. If it's uncirculated, you might be able to get $10 for it. But it may also take a while to sell.

Your note would qualify as a birthday note, with a specific month, day, and year.......narrowing your target customer. A similar, more popular seller is the birthyear note, with a larger customer base.

Yes it is me. I figured I might try to sell it. Since I work in a convience store and see hundreds of notes a day I should be able to find more.
