Right now I store my junk silver american coins in 2x2 and i'm getting to have to much of it and don't like to have to put them in 2x2. I just bought some of these for my quarters and for some halves. Does any one else use these and do you like them? If you don't like them can you please tell me whats wrong with them? Thanks http://www.ebay.com/itm/5-Quarter-Coin-Safe-Square-Coin-Tubes-/130859340726?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e77d313b6 *EDIT* Also which ones do you prefer? Numis or Coin Safe? Is there a difference?
That price is ridiculous! You can get them at JP's Corner for 40c each. http://www.jpscorner.com/coin-tubes.html#coinsafe-square-tubes By the way, I use the Coin Safe tubes, but not for junk silver. I like them, and you can also get the heavy duty fiberboard boxes that will hold the tubes from JP's Corner. Chris
What Chris said. I like them too, but $1.13 each is crazy. My local coin store sells all sizes for $0.45 each. ETA: The only thing I don't like about them is they hold more than a standard roll. Each type of roll usually hold 2-3 extra coins, more if they're circulated and worn. I know, "How is that a problem?" Let's say I sell ten rolls of quarters on FeeBay. When I ship them, I have to put a little padding at the top of each tube to prevent the coins from getting damaged in transit.
My bank would, too, and that's what I used to do when I was searching boxes of halves and quarters for silver. Chris
