Hey fellas, I was wondering what your opinions about this coin are. I have owned it for some time, its been in my type set collection for a while. I have always thought it had a very nice strike on the reverse and I began to wonder if it was worth sending into NGC to have a 2nd look at the designation. Let me know what you all think. NGC currently has it as MS67, no band line designation.
It does look FBL to me, but what ldhair said about the hits on the bands could very well be accurate.
Like others have said, FB without the hit. I think it's unlikely that a TPG would give FB to a 1945 with that obvious of a hit on the bands. It might sneak by if it was any other year.
You know, I don't know...the hits on the band should not have kept it from going FB because that is a measure of the separation in the line between the two, if anything the hits would have kept it from going MS67. You might send it in for FB designation, but it might come back MS66 FB.
Booksb4coins - ah right you are lol. bqcoins - not sure about ngc bc I only buy pcgs, but for PCGS " there can be no interruption on the trough (depression) of the bands due to strike, contact, planchet problems or any other damage, whether mint caused or not, if the coin is to obtain the PCGS Full Band designation."
