Indeed! Did you go? It was a madhouse. Had to drive around the lot like 3 times to find a spot. The good news is that they are holding a 2nd show this year in August
That is good news! I didn't make it. I had the brown-bottle flu from the night before. It was one of my kids birthday lol.
So I blasted through 4 rolls of UNC Canadian cents last night. Came away with 13 hanging 3 1963s, one of which was PL. And went through some 1964 rolls, picked 5 Hangers, 4 extra spines, and a PL Ultra Heavy Cameo. I'll post some pics tonight, it was a fun endeavor.
The 1967 Canadian Centennial set is one of my personal favorites. I used to find many one cent and 10-cent coins in change in upstate New York through the mid-1970s. The Canada Goose dollar coin is one the world's elegant classic beauties.
1959 and 1960 Proof Sets ... got 'em half price, due to a bit o' tarnishing (character) NOTE => the dime is very toned in both sets (I now have every proof set from 1959-to-date => 54 consecutive years!!) ... and working my way back
These qualify as new in my collection There were some Canadian coins in the bulk lot I picked-up last Sunday. The two 2001 proof sets include the $2 polar bear & $1 Lune coins. The other four Canada proof sets contain cent through dollar. You may recall from my earlier post that this bulk lot cost about 1.5 x face values so these large face value coins helped drive the overall price. :rollling: There are three partial sets of Canada small cents in the lot. I really don't know what to look for in this lot.
For the cents: Looks like all the albums are 1937 (George VI) and up. Nothing to really look for in there. The only one that stands out, but not by much, is the 1948 "A To Small Denticle" variety. The small cents that have some great value are 1920 to 1936 (George V). Especially 1922-1925 and the 1929 "high 9" variety.
It looks like there are only five (5) coins in the page for George V. I will inspect those coins this weekend.
Found myself a couple real nice pieces, and something a little different. Any grade guesses gladly appreciated! 1881 Newfoundland 50 cent (50,000 minted) 1838 Montreal Un Sou Token - 18 Leaves Breton 692 (double clip)
2001-P Volunteer Nice Proof-Like, 2001-P Volunteer ! I'll list the errors for this one: Die groves on both sides, Die groves on the Obverse, Heres some new ones too, cuds on the obverse, on the sun, and lower ray, also has nice doubling on the sun rays
