I am always on the lookout for clad halves, quarters and dimes with nice natural toning! Not as easy to find as the silver of course.
This may be a stupid question or I'm too blind (probably more the latter), but what am I supposed to be seeing?
Here's a photo of what a sms looks like, check out the lips & eye Heres a photo of what a regular strike looks like, check out the lips & eye :thumb:
Nothing particularly great. I am still hunting for an affordable yet attractively toned Roosevelt. I see a lot to like, but my wallet does not.
ff-topic: BUT not much! 1969 to 1970 the Roosevelt Dime Rev changed has any Dime person know what to look for?? I have 2 Gem Bu 1969-P+D ea +1970-P+D 2 rolls
Hey, Jello... Are you talking about the 1969's and 1970's circulation strikes that were struck with proof reverses? I think the proof reverse of '68 was used, though please don't quote me as I don't really collect the varieties and it's been a good couple of years since I honed my dime knowledge. As for distinction, again, please someone double check me, I think it's all in the flame. Proof reverses have 2 lines on the torche's flame to provide more dimensionality to it compared to the circulation strikes. I'm trying to find a picture of this as I type, but with little luck, but I do remember reading something to that effect a while ago. I know this is probably little help, but it is something to go off of at least. I'll keep looking around for you though in my dime book.
