If it had prooflike fieds as many of the 100 Corona coins do, it would have been graded MS60 or MS61. Agree the reverse is gem, but then the grading services typically give far more weight to the obverse, especially if it has a portrait as most do, when assigning a grade. I'll take the 64 grade, no problem with that, and while I abhor + grading and hope NGC never adopts it for world coins, I would say this coin falls in the lower echelons of the MS64 grade.

Nice looking coin, mine is similar and also raw. Not quite nice enough to send in for grading in my own case.

This photo looks much better than the coin does in-hand

Got this 1932 Poland 10 Zyotych last Sunday. It is not UNC (and it is cleaned) but the price of $12 was pretty cool for such a large piece of silver. :) It is about 34 mm diameter.

I picked up a half pahlavi from Iran last night:

Anyone familiar enough with these to help me grade it? Also, Krause doesn't have mintage figures for AH1354... was this a particularly rare or common year?

    1942 Ireland Half Crown

    Composition: 0.75 Silver
    Mintage: 286,000
    ASW: 0.34 oz

Here is the current centerpiece of my Irish collection, a 1942 Half Crown in a PCGS MS65 holder. Some discoloration starting to creep in but overall an amazing coin with incredible luster. Small mintage of 286,000 but who knows how many have been melted down. This was the last year for silver half crowns except for 1943, where a normal quantity of coins were minted, but never released into circulation. The 1943 half crowns were eventually melted down, but somehow a small number entered circulation, believed to be around 1000 pieces. Of those 1000 that escaped, an estimated 500 still exist.

I finally got my 2010 mint set from the Czech Republic Mint today! This year is a mint-set issue only, with a total mintage of 10,000 sets. It has other coins in it, but this is the one I bought it for! :)
