So this will show how naive I am about this but I have to ask anyway - Wouldn't it be relatively easy to search through mint sets until you find coins that you think have a chance and submit them? Or is this something that has already been done with just about every mint set out there? I can't grade them - but I just think of all the grandmothers out there that have mint sets from these years sitting in closets that have probably never been cherry picked. This isn't meant in jest - on its surface it seems like with a little leg work it could be done.
Yep - sounds easy, but I don't think it is. Not that it can't be done, but I think it will take more work than just trying to find one already graded.
I like the fact that you have photos of your coins. To me, a published registry set without photos is like looking at a Dansco Coin Album in the dark. This is pet peeve with me for the PCGS showcase sets - why have a showcase set if you don't have pictures to "showcase" your coins... Thanks for sharing.
Don't give a hang, hoot, or a holler for registry sets but I got one (I think). Remember back a few weeks ago when PCGS was giving away dem quarters? Well, I got one and set up a 'registry'. More like a mish mosh of stuff. No theme, just a bunch of baggage.........
Just 'baggage' Shaun. I think we can leave the emotional part out of it........ [Did I really come off that strong?]
You did have some very powerful words in there. Sometimes I don't know if you sad, mad, or happy. You are a mysterious one Ken.
