The 2012-P Acadia 5oz just went on backorder to 3/6/2013. If past mint patterns continue, this means it is sold out and will post as such within a few days. The last reported sales for Acadia was 14,596 (but is not final), which is very close to the Volcanoes sales of 14,863, but slightly less.
Mint needs to drop price back down to $204.95 the original price.... I like the 2011-P Chickasaw, its mintage is apx. 16,500. .
Love that one too. Wasn't it the lowest mintage until the 2012's? Either way they're all low mintage.
Yes it was. My only three P-Pucks. . I'll be adding the 2014-P Smokey Mountain and The Florida Everglades
I have said this before and will say it again: The Mint needs to drop the price of these to $199.95. They will all sell out, the Mint will make a significant profit, and collectors of these will be happy. TC
I'm with you, Bull. I would like those 2 for sure and that's probably it for me. Hopefully, the designs chosen will be good. Here is the link to the candidates for each coin. It's interesting to see which design the committee is recommending for each of the parks. http://news.coinupdate.com/america-the-beautiful-quarters-design-candidates-reviewed-by-cfa-1723/
I like the design of the Chickasaw coin a lot also. The problem for me, though, is I won't get it because I know the park it represents is a carphole (hint: you have to unscramble the first part of the word.) I know it shouldn't make any difference, but I'm picky about my parks. I know it's weird, but.............
As a Mainiac, I love the Acadia design. As a collector of all 15 to date, I hope they all appreciate by 10 fold.
They should at these mintages, if/when demand increases, even if silver continues its slide. I'm mean heck, does the price of copper have anything to do with the price of a 1909-s vdb?
I know the mint has at least one more Acadia in stock: the free one they sent me with my 2013 Proof ASE! Seriously, I open the box and there was an Acadia hockey puck thrown in. I sent it back last week...felt too guilty to keep it. It was gorgeous though, first one of these 5 oz'ers I've seen. The mint said they'd reimburse my shipping...nice of them.
WOW! I don't know what I'd do if the mint threw in something extra - especially since I figure they owe me for over charging me all these years.
See eBay (fair market-price) lows. Ouch! The coin alone currently nets vendors ~$185.-195. (after -13% feebay's take) ... net costs, it's a just a 5% premium bullion piece (so: little/no numismatic value after all.) Sellers who paid $230. ($205. plus s/h?) or higher are now suffering obvious loss. Worse yet, Silver (POS) went up 7% ... but retail Mint Buyers' net actually fell in that period. The box/schwag adds ~50 bucks in "value" to the "product"... net costs, that's a 41% premium in total. Good grief, the "numismatic value" (26%) is basically/entirely just paper/pkging! And This Too Shall Pass... When POS hits $25. (imagine: in late April 2013) at current net to the puck vendors, that coin might sell for $151. and be "worth" just $131. to losing eBay vendor. "Appreciate" ??? Quite the opposite, that'll be a HUGE loss from $230. paid on 8/12/2012. As they say, a fool and his money are soon parted. So let it sell out - don't touch that "investment" with a ten-foot pole, or not until that ATB discounts @~$150. later in the Spring. (It's obvious, unless you're drinking that POS>$500/ozt koolaid....)
I just ordered the Denali to go with my Acadia yesterday evening. I have a feeling that all of them will be scarce for a long time. The secondary market is still going nuts over the Hawaii.
Hey Juan: I missed out on the Acadia. However, I did purchase the Hawaii collector version for $209.90 shipped and the Hawaii bullion version for $187 shipped. Can you run your numbers for these? Thanks, TC :smile
There's only 3 listed on eBay now for $450, $550 & $575. I wouldn't sell any of mine even at those prices, afterall these are the very low mintage collectors P mint versions.
Yeah, it was pretty tempting to just hang onto it. In the end, knew I wouldn't enjoy it and would always have a guilty feeling. The mint customer service lady was pretty astonished. A least she thanked me about a dozen times. Now we'll see if I actually get the shipping reimbursed. I'm guessing the guy with box next to mine in the shipping room was missing his Acadia...that should be a fun one to call and explain!
